The Philippine Trade and Investment Centre (PTIC) in New Delhi is the Commercial Section of the Philippine Embassy in New Delhi and the representative office of the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry in India supporting the Philippine Missions in  Nepal,  Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

PTIC New Delhi is under the  Foreign Trade Service Corps, Industry Promotions Group of the Department of Trade and Industry.

The mandates of the Philippine Trade and Investment Centre in New Delhi are:

  • Trade Promotion
  • Investment Promotion
  • Trade Policy Negotiations
  • Protection of Philippine Business Interests

PTIC New Delhi provides the following services:

  • Economic information service
  • Business matching and referrals to buyers and prospective partners
  • Organizing trade and investment missions
  • Generating business leads and opportunities
  • Implementing trade and investment fairs and seminars
  • Commercial and market intelligence reporting
  • Investigating trade complaints
  • “Handholding” trade partners and investors to facilitate doing business in the Philippines
  • Trade representation and negotiation of trade issues

The Department of Trade and Industry

The Philippine Department of Trade and Industry is the executive department of the Philippine Government tasked to expand Philippine trade, industries and investments as the means to generate jobs and raise incomes for Filipinos. It acts as catalyst for intensified private sector activity in order to accelerate and sustain economic growth through comprehensive industrial growth strategy, progressive and socially responsible trade liberalization and deregulation programs and policymaking designed for the expansion and diversification of Philippine trade - both domestic and foreign.

The national organizational set up of the department include Industry Promotions Group (IPG), Industry Development Group (IDG), Consumer Protection Group (CPG), Regional Operations Group (ROG), and the Management Services Group (MSG). Its organizational structure includes 33 foreign trade service posts, 16 regional offices, 81 provincial/city/area offices, 13 bureaus, 7 attached agencies, 7 attached corporations, and 10 service offices.

The department is headed by a Secretary (equivalent to Minister) and assisted by Undersecretaries (equivalent to Deputy Minister) which take charge of certain sub-department each, and Assistant Secretaries which serve as specialized assistants of the Secretary
